6 Places To See Free Art In Miami – North

The art starts on the outside of ICA MIAMI

With cooler weather and Miami’s “in” season almost here, I thought it might be appropriate to give us all a jump start on Miami Art Week, by listing some places where we can see art.  Year round.  In our own back yard.  Without crowds. For FREE!

Other than the obvious Wynwood, there are so many places to see art in Miami.  Thanks to Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places and astute business owners who also happen to be art aficionados, there are plenty of places to see art in Miami.  In no particular order, and by no means all inclusive, here are a few of my favorites:

Aventura Mall art collection – Better known for world class shopping, Aventura Mall has an extensive and impressive art collection

Institute of Contemporary Art – In the Miami Design District, this museum is ALWAYS free.  The art installations are sometimes trippy, but always thought provoking.

Miami Beach – I think the ocean and colorful life guard stands on the beach are art enough, but Miami Beach Art in public spaces include sea inspired as well as modern and art deco pieces.

Miami Design District Art Tours – In addition to being able to see great, fun architecture for free as you stroll through the MDD, they have regular art tours in conjunction with Arts Encounters.

PAMM – Perez Art Museum Miami free second Saturdays.  The second Saturday of each month you get to see their art exhibits for FREE!

Is your favorite free art space in the northern part of Miami-Dade not on the list?  Please share it with us!

Cindy Orlinsky Sells Country Club Estates In Aventura

Spacious, open kitchen in Country Club Estates home

Looking to buy a home in Country Club Estates in Aventura, Florida?  Then you need to call Cindy.  She has sold 4 properties in the last two months; two of which never made it into the Multiple Listing Service and were sold off-market.

Country Club Estates, a luxury enclave of 80 single-family homes, is the only community of it’s type located on the prestigious Turnberry Golf Course.  This private, gated community of luxury homes is an oasis in the heart of Aventura.  Also known as Aventura Estates, this enclave is a wonderful place to call home due to both its size and location.

Cindy not only sells a lot of the homes in this luxury community, she also lives in the community and sits on the homeowner’s board, which gives her great insight into what is going on in the neighborhood.  She loves living and selling in Country Club Estates because, “It is the only luxury single family home community in Aventura where we live and vacation all year long!”  If you want more information on the lifestyle here, call her at 305-469-3222.

City of Miami Traffic Light Camera Locations

With local economies in the tank and municipalities hurting for income due to lost revenues, many cities are putting up traffic light cameras to help them catch drivers that run red lights, block intersections, or don’t make a full stop before turning right on red.

Aventura is notorious for its high fines.   The City of Miami is about to join the ranks.

Aventura Buying Renting in Miami Restaurants Things To Do

10 Things I Love About Aventura

  1. Laurenzo’s Italian Center – Whether you are a gourmet cook and want amazing Italian ingredients or want something already prepared, you will enjoying cruising up and down the isles of this well-known local gourmet supermarket.
  2. Founders Park – Located on a 12-acres site, this park has something for everyone.  Tennis, ball fields, exercise trails, picnic shelters and a splash park for the kids (residents get into splash park free with id, non-residents pay $10).
  3. Size/Value of condos.  If you are renting or selling, you can usually find a larger condo in Aventura than you could in Brickell or Miami Beach, and usually for less.  Search for yourself.
  4. Location:  Close to Ft. Lauderdale, Miami,(and their respective airports and ports) and just a jump to the beach
  5. Boating
  6. Don Soffer exercise trail- this 3 mile loop is perfect for running, walking the pets, or taking an evening stroll
  7. The Farimont Turnberry Golf and Country Club – in addition to having a world class spa and golf course, the restaurants are also amazing.
  8. William’s Island – this enclave of homes, condos, and town homes, all surrounded by water, includes its own private club and is a relaxing jewel of a community, close to everything in Aventura, including a Fresh Market.
  9. Proximity to Gulfstream Park – What a great way to spend the day.  If watching the horse races isn’t your thing, at least stop by and watch the beautiful animals parade around the courtyard prior to each race, then take off and go eat, shop or dance, at one of the many venues.
  10. Mo’s Bagel and Diner – My Dad is a New Yorker who hasn’t lived there since he was born, but it’s in his blood, and Mo’s makes him feel like he is back there.

If I were a shopper, I would add the Aventura Mall.  I personally can’t stand shopping, but this mall is amazing.  It is large, clean and has such a variety of stores.  If you can’t find what you are looking for here, you probably don’t need it.
