Hollywood Beach
Art Deco buildings, wide beach, easy parking, and walking distance to Le Tub. What more could you ask for for a great day at the beach!
Le Tub in Hollywood is one of those funky, fun, old-Florida places that I love. Originally a Sunoco Gas Station, Le Tub was built out of flotsam, jetsam, and ocean “treasures” over a 4 year period. The atmosphere is great, on the Intracoastal, the food is very good beach fare and the portions are large enough for sharing. If you don’t finish everything on your plate and don’t want to take a doggie bag, just throw the food over the side and watch the fish have a feast. These have to be some of the best fed fish in Florida! No credit cards.

Wealthy Still Moving to Florida
Forbes’ article Where America’s Money is Moving states that 8 of the top 20 counties where the wealthiest residents are moving are in Florida. In addition to the weather, beaches, lifestyle, drastically reduced real estate, the fact that Florida does not have income taxes continues to make the state one of the top destinations for high income earners.
The number one destination was Collier County. Though most of the people moving there were from other parts of Florida, many also came from northern cities.

As Miami-Dade County Public Schools wraps up their academic calendar and students get ready for their summer vacation that starts later this week, I am amazed at how rapidly another school year flew by. My children are wrapping up their last years of high school and I am grateful that I live in a community that appreciates the difficulties the public schools are experiencing, both economically and because of increased competition, and steps up to the plate to assist.
