This beautifully updated north Pinecrest home is ready for your personal touches. Granite kitchen counter tops, accordion hurricane shutters, 3 year-old roof, refinished pool, and crown molding throughout, are just a few of the many improvements that make this a great buy. It is located on a builder’s acre corner lot in prestigious north Pinecrest, walking distance to Pinecrest Elementary, Pinecrest Gardens, the Pinecrest Community Center and Library and Wayside Market.
For fun, inexpensive ways to spend time outdoors with the kids, head to the Village of Pinecrest schools for their carnivals.
Pinecrest Elementary’s Wild West Fest is this Saturday. Howard Dr. Elementary is also having theirs this Saturday from 10:00-4:00.
Palmetto Elementary has their Jungle Jamz on Saturday, November 17 from 11-4.
The Pinecrest Tribune, a Community Newspapers paper, has endorsed Jennifer Wollmann for the Village of Pinecrest Council, Seat 1. Among their reasons for the endorsement were:
- Commitment to educational issues
- Concerns over US 1 proposals by FPL and MDX
- Real estate experience
- Knowledge of issues that concern Pinecrest residents
- Desire to keep Pinecrest a multi-generational community
Thank you, Community Newspapers!
Traffic around Miami was heavier this week since some private schools started classes and public school employees were reporting to work. Miami-Dade Public Schools and local universities will start classes on Monday, so please be patient and considerate, allow more travel time to get to and from where ever you are going, remember school speed zones, and please stop for pedestrians; it is state law.
There are several gated communities in the Village of Pinecrest. Most of them consist of only a handful of houses. I will be featuring these communities over the next two months.
The first one is Red Oaks. Located off of Red Road, Red Oaks is walking distance to Hirni’s Wayside Garden Florist, Pinecrest Wayside Market, Pinecrest Elementary School, Pinecrest Gardens, Pinecrest Library and Community Center.
Built between 1999 and 2002, Red Oaks consists of 5 single family homes that are approximately 5,500 square feet and sit on 15,000-20,000 square foot lots. There has only been one sale in Red Oaks in 2012. It sold for $1,550,000, which was $284 per square foot. Maintenance fees are $800 per quarter and include lawn maintenance.
An article in Wednesday’s Miami Herald stated that Miami-Dade County Public School District students outperform their national peers on their National Assessment in Education Progress (NAEP) exams.
The quality of our public schools and the educational options we provide parents, increase Miami’s ability to attract and maintain businesses by providing an educated workforce. Increased businesses = increased # employees = increase in home sales.
In an earlier post I mentioned the Village of Pinecrest’s art in public places campaign to raise money for the public schools in Pinecrest. Please consider joining the other sponsors and sponsor a dog. Stay tuned for future blogs regarding Smarty Dogs and other art in public places.
